I'm Byron Hickey, and I am honored to be a candidate for Mayor of Columbus, Georgia.

I was born and raised in Columbus, and this city has always been my home. As a retired Columbus Police Detective, I dedicated my career to protecting our families and serving our community with integrity. Beyond my career in law enforcement, I have remained deeply engaged in serving our community. I currently serve on the City Council and have also served on local school boards and as President of school booster clubs. My commitment to public service includes active roles on Public Safety Advisory Commissions, participation on the City Charter Review Commission, and leadership as President of Youth Sports. In addition, I have operated small businesses in our community and consistently stood firm against corruption and the mistreatment of city employees. Above all, I am a family man and a man of God, guided by faith, values, and a commitment to making Columbus a stronger city for every family.

My decision to run is rooted in one belief: our community deserves a Mayor who leads with strength, principle, and accountability to the people. I will always put the people first, working with vision, integrity, and action — not just words.
